It is the time of year when we need to think about next season and team selection. Northern has entered the same number of teams as last season into the Northumbria County Leagues ie 6 Men's teams and 3 Ladies teams (plus 2 Junior teams).
If you wish to be considered as a REGULAR for the Men's teams - ie can commit to playing a team match (home or away) potentially every week through the season - please email me (dandjnorth@tesco.net) by 8th August.
If you cannot, or don't want to, commit but are happy to be a STAND IN (when a regular player can't make it), please also let me know by this date.
A selection meeting (involving team captains) will take place after this date to decide team squads and playing orders.
Ladies - please respond to Lesley Vitty's separate email about the Ladies team. Please also note the following extract from May Committee meeting minutes: "The policy agreed by the Committee is that a Female Player may be nominated to play for a Ladies’ team and also be nominated as a stand in for either a junior team (if eligible) or a Men’s team. A female may not be nominated solely to play for a Men’s team as a regular player and also play for the Ladies teams."
