SquashLevels is the UK's national squash ranking system, operated by SquashLevels Ltd. It provides accurate rankings for thousands of squash players across the country based on match results.

The integration benefits both players and the wider squash community:

For Players:

• Automatic updates: No manual result entry required

The SquashLevels integration is currently enabled for the following clubs:

• Northern Squash Club (Tyne & Wear)

We share two types of data with SquashLevels:

What we DON'T share:

• Email address (unless you register directly on SquashLevels)
• Telephone number
• Address
• Payment information
• Password or login credentials
• Any other personal data not listed above

We use two different legal approaches for data sharing:

1. Basic Match Data – Legitimate Interest (No Consent Needed)

Your basic match results (names, scores, dates) are shared automatically based on legitimate interest. This is the legal basis used by all sports leagues when reporting results to national organisations.

2. Enhanced Data – Explicit Consent (You Must Opt In)

For enhanced data (date of birth and England Squash membership number), we require your explicit consent. This is entirely optional and only needed if you want to:

• Appear in age category rankings (O35, O40, etc.)
• Link your results across different clubs and competitions

No action required! If you're a member of a club with SquashLevels integration enabled:

1. Your basic match results are automatically shared with SquashLevels when matches are recorded in Wazygoose
2. Results typically appear on SquashLevels within 24 hours of being recorded
3. Your SquashLevels rating will update automatically after each match

To enable enhanced features:

• Visit your Data Sharing Preferences page
• Grant consent for enhanced data sharing
• Provide your date of birth and/or England Squash membership number

Enhanced data consent is entirely optional, but it provides significant benefits:

✅ Reasons to Grant Enhanced Consent:

• Age category rankings: Compete in O35, O40, O45, etc. categories
• Better matchmaking: Find opponents in your age group
• Multi-club tracking: Link results across different clubs with ES number
• Complete profile: More accurate ranking and performance tracking
• England Squash integration: Connect with national programmes

❌ Reasons You Might Not Want To:

• You only play recreationally and don't care about age rankings
• You prefer to keep your age private (though remember: DoB is write-only)
• You don't have an England Squash membership number
• You only play at one club and don't need multi-club linking

You can opt out at any time. Here's how:

1. Log in to your Wazygoose account
2. Navigate to My Account → Data Sharing Preferences
3. Find the SquashLevels Integration section
4. Click "Opt Out of Sharing from This Club"
5. Confirm your choice

Can I opt back in later? Yes! You can opt back in at any time, and future matches will resume being shared.

Withdrawing enhanced consent is separate from opting out completely:

1. Go to My Account → Data Sharing Preferences
2. Find Enhanced Data Sharing
3. Click "Withdraw Enhanced Consent"
4. Confirm your choice

What happens:

• Future matches will not include your date of birth or England Squash number
• Basic match data (names, scores, dates) continues to be shared
• You'll no longer appear in age category rankings
• Historical data may still be on SquashLevels' system

All your data sharing preferences are managed in one place:

1. Log in to Wazygoose
2. Click your name in the top right corner
3. Select "My Account"
4. Navigate to "Data Sharing Preferences"

On this page you can:

• View your current sharing status
• Opt in or out of SquashLevels sharing
• Grant or withdraw enhanced data consent
• Update your date of birth
• Update your England Squash membership number
• See when changes will take effect
• View your SquashLevels profile link (if available)

Yes! By default, only matches from the date when SquashLevels integration was enabled for your club are shared. However, you can optionally include your historical matches if you want a more complete picture on SquashLevels.

To include your historical matches:

1. Go to My Account → Data Sharing Preferences
2. Find the Historical Matches section
3. Click "Include Historical Matches"
4. Confirm your choice

Can I change my mind later? Yes! You can exclude historical matches again at any time by withdrawing consent. Future matches (from the go-live date onwards) will continue to be shared normally.

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your data:

No. When you opt out, your internal league results from this club will not be shared with SquashLevels. The match will not appear for either you or your opponent.

• Your results will still be published on the Wazygoose website (required for league administration)
• Your SquashLevels profile and rankings from other clubs, tournaments, and team matches will remain unaffected
• You can opt back in at any time and future matches will resume being shared

It depends on when you opt out:

Before go-live (14 April 2026)

If you opt out before we begin sharing data with SquashLevels, your match results will never be sent to them.

After go-live

If your data has already been sent to SquashLevels, opting out will stop future matches being shared but historical matches already on SquashLevels will remain.

This is a limitation of the SquashLevels integration, not a Wazygoose restriction. SquashLevels requires this data to maintain accurate rankings across clubs and competitions.

Once your matches are being shared, you can view your SquashLevels profile:

Directly on SquashLevels

1. Visit www.squashlevels.com
2. Use the Player Search feature
3. Enter your name and club
4. Find your profile in the results

The data will be added to your existing SquashLevels account if you already have one. SquashLevels matches players based on their name and club information, so your internal league results will feed into your current profile and ranking.

If you don't currently have a SquashLevels account, one will be created for you automatically when we share the match data.

The SquashLevels integration is fully automated:

1. Match Recording: When you record match results in Wazygoose, they're saved to the database
2. Nightly Export: SquashLevels polls Wazygoose nightly for new match results (typically last 3 days)
3. Consent Filtering: Wazygoose automatically filters results based on player consent preferences
4. Data Format: Results are provided in CSV format as specified by SquashLevels
5. Rating Update: SquashLevels processes the matches and updates player ratings

What matches are shared:

• ✅ Singles matches (not doubles)
• ✅ Non-handicap leagues
• ✅ Completed matches (not walkovers)
• ✅ Both players are active members
• ✅ At least one player hasn't opted out

What matches are NOT shared:

• ❌ Doubles matches
• ❌ Handicap league matches
• ❌ Walkover results
• ❌ Matches where both players opted out
• ❌ Deleted players

Common issues and how to resolve them:

Issue: "My matches aren't appearing on SquashLevels"

Troubleshooting steps:

1. Check if matches were recorded correctly in Wazygoose
2. Verify the player hasn't opted out (check their Data Sharing Preferences)
3. Wait 24-48 hours - SquashLevels polls nightly
4. Check if opponent also opted out (both opted out = match not shared)
5. Verify match type is eligible (singles, non-handicap, not walkover)

Issue: "My age category is wrong"

Resolution:

• Player needs to grant enhanced data consent
• Player needs to provide/update date of birth in Wazygoose
• Allow 24 hours for SquashLevels to update

Issue: "I want to delete my SquashLevels profile"

Resolution:

• Player can opt out in Wazygoose (stops future sharing)
• For existing data deletion, player must contact SquashLevels directly
• Note: Deletion may affect historical ranking calculations

Issue: "My rating seems incorrect"

Resolution:

• Rating calculations are SquashLevels' responsibility
• Direct player to contact SquashLevels support
• Verify all match results are correctly recorded in Wazygoose

Yes! If you're a league manager at a club using Wazygoose and would like to enable SquashLevels integration:

1. Contact Wazygoose: Email [email protected]
2. Club Approval: Confirm you have authority to enable integration for your club
3. Technical Setup: We'll configure the integration (typically 1-2 business days)
4. Testing: We'll verify everything works correctly with a few test matches
5. Member Communication: We'll provide templates to inform your members

There's no cost for the integration - it's included with your Wazygoose subscription.

Yes. The integration has been carefully designed to comply with UK GDPR:

• Rate limiting: Protection against abuse and excessive requests

3. SquashLevels Security

SquashLevels is a separate data controller with their own security measures:

• UK-based servers (no international transfers)
• Industry-standard encryption and access controls
• Regular security audits

There are two separate data controllers for this integration:

Integration Architecture:

• Method: RESTful API endpoint (HTTP GET)
• Format: CSV export with SquashLevels-specified format
• Polling: SquashLevels polls nightly for new matches

Data Export Process:

1. SquashLevels server initiates GET request to Wazygoose API
2. Request includes API key, club ID, and lookback period (typically 3 days)
3. Wazygoose validates API key and authorisation
4. Database query executes with consent filtering
5. Results formatted as CSV with SquashLevels headers
6. CSV returned with appropriate content-type headers
7. SquashLevels processes matches and updates ratings

Privacy Field Values:

• 0: Player visible (normal display)
• 1: Player hidden — this value is no longer used; matches for opted-out players are excluded entirely from the feed

Database Consent Filtering:

Consent checks are enforced at the data query level:

• Player opt-out status checked via UserConsent table (ConsentTypeID = 3)
• Enhanced consent status checked via UserConsent table (ConsentTypeID = 2)
• Only most recent consent per player per club is used
• Matches excluded if either player has opted out
• Enhanced fields (DoB, ES number) only included with valid consent

Security Measures:

• API key per club (different keys for different clubs)
• IP whitelisting (SquashLevels server IPs only)
• Request logging and audit trail
• Automated security monitoring

Data retention differs between Wazygoose and SquashLevels:

Wazygoose Data Retention:

SquashLevels Data Retention:

• Match results: Retained indefinitely for ranking calibration
