Understanding the SquashLevels integration
SquashLevels is the UK's national squash ranking system, operated by SquashLevels Ltd. It provides accurate rankings for thousands of squash players across the country based on match results.
SquashLevels uses a sophisticated algorithm to calculate player ratings based on match results. Your rating increases when you beat higher-rated players and decreases when you lose to lower-rated players. This creates a dynamic, accurate reflection of your current playing ability.
Key features:
Visit www.squashlevels.com to explore the rankings and create your free account.
The integration benefits both players and the wider squash community:
For Players:
For UK Squash:
Sharing league results with national ranking systems is standard practice across all sports. Just as football leagues report results to the FA, squash clubs contribute to the national squash database through SquashLevels.
The SquashLevels integration is currently enabled for the following clubs:
We're gradually rolling out the integration to more clubs on Wazygoose. If you're a league manager and would like to enable SquashLevels integration for your club, please contact us.
Understanding what data is shared and how to control it
We use two different legal approaches for data sharing:
Your basic match results (names, scores, dates) are shared automatically based on legitimate interest. This is the legal basis used by all sports leagues when reporting results to national organisations.
For enhanced data (date of birth and England Squash membership number), we require your explicit consent. This is entirely optional and only needed if you want to:
Whether you choose to share basic data, enhanced data, or nothing at all, you can change your mind at any time through your Data Sharing Preferences page.
No action required! If you're a member of a club with SquashLevels integration enabled:
Remember: These match results are already publicly visible on Wazygoose as part of your league standings. The SquashLevels integration simply makes them available to the national ranking system as well.
To enable enhanced features:
Enhanced data consent is entirely optional, but it provides significant benefits:
You can grant or withdraw enhanced consent at any time. Changes take effect within 24 hours. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect basic match data sharing (unless you also opt out completely).
| Feature | Basic Data Only | With Enhanced Data |
|---|---|---|
| National ranking | β Yes | β Yes |
| Match history | β Yes | β Yes |
| Age category rankings | β No | β Yes (with DoB) |
| Multi-club linking | β οΈ Limited | β Yes (with ES number) |

How to control your data and protect your privacy
You can opt out at any time. Here's how:
Can I opt back in later? Yes! You can opt back in at any time, and future matches will resume being shared.
If you opt out in Wazygoose but later register directly on SquashLevels or have results from other sources, you can control your visibility preferences directly on the SquashLevels website. They may still show your profile based on other data sources.
Withdrawing enhanced consent is separate from opting out completely:
What happens:
All your data sharing preferences are managed in one place:
On this page you can:
SquashLevels polls Wazygoose nightly for updated match data. Any changes you make to your preferences will be reflected on SquashLevels within 24 hours.
Yes! By default, only matches from the date when SquashLevels integration was enabled for your club are shared. However, you can optionally include your historical matches if you want a more complete picture on SquashLevels.
When SquashLevels integration was enabled for your club, a "go-live date" was set. For this rollout the go-live date is 14 April 2026. By default:
To include your historical matches:
A historical match will only be shared with SquashLevels if both players in that match have opted in to historical sharing. If either player hasn't opted in (or has opted out entirely), the match will not be sharedβeven if it's part of your match history.
This protects player privacy while allowing those who want their full history to be included.
Can I change my mind later? Yes! You can exclude historical matches again at any time by withdrawing consent. Future matches (from the go-live date onwards) will continue to be shared normally.
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your data:
| Right | What It Means | How to Exercise |
|---|---|---|
| Right to Access | Request a copy of data SquashLevels holds about you | Contact SquashLevels directly via their website |
| Right to Rectification | Correct inaccurate data | Update on Wazygoose or contact SquashLevels |
| Right to Erasure | Request deletion of your data | Contact SquashLevels directly (note: may affect rankings) |
| Right to Restrict Processing | Temporarily limit how data is used | Opt out via Wazygoose preferences |
| Right to Object | Object to data sharing | Opt out via Wazygoose preferences |
| Right to Data Portability | Receive your data in a portable format | Contact SquashLevels directly |
| Right to Withdraw Consent | Withdraw enhanced data consent | Via Wazygoose Data Sharing Preferences |
| Right to Complain | Lodge a complaint with the ICO | Visit ico.org.uk |
Both Wazygoose and SquashLevels are separate data controllers. For data on Wazygoose, contact us at [email protected]. For data on SquashLevels, contact them through their website.
No. When you opt out, your internal league results from this club will not be shared with SquashLevels. The match will not appear for either you or your opponent.
"Name Withheld" is a separate privacy feature on SquashLevels that affects how your name appears across all of your results on their platform. This is not controlled by Wazygoose β it is a setting you can manage directly on the SquashLevels website.
It depends on when you opt out:
If you opt out before we begin sharing data with SquashLevels, your match results will never be sent to them.
If your data has already been sent to SquashLevels, opting out will stop future matches being shared but historical matches already on SquashLevels will remain.
Once match data is sent to SquashLevels it becomes part of their calibration system and contributes to the rankings of all players involved. Removing historical matches would affect the accuracy of opponents' rankings and the overall system.
This is a limitation of the SquashLevels integration, not a Wazygoose restriction. SquashLevels requires this data to maintain accurate rankings across clubs and competitions.
If you're unsure about sharing your data, wait to opt in until you're comfortable with this limitation. You can always opt in later if you change your mind.
Once your matches are being shared, you can view your SquashLevels profile:
You don't need a SquashLevels account to have a profile and ranking. However, creating one allows you to:
Registering is free at www.squashlevels.com
The data will be added to your existing SquashLevels account if you already have one. SquashLevels matches players based on their name and club information, so your internal league results will feed into your current profile and ranking.
If you don't currently have a SquashLevels account, one will be created for you automatically when we share the match data.
All your match history (from tournaments, other clubs, team matches, and internal leagues) will be consolidated under a single SquashLevels profile and contribute to one overall ranking.
