Our financial year ended on 31st March. This will have been the first full year of our "new way" of sections running their own income/expenditure. We have asked our auditors to accelerate the production of our Accounts and Balance Sheet.
These accounts will likely show a surplus for the year, however the fire we suffered in late 2024 has had a financial consequence. Our periodic insurance survey has resulted in a request that we standardise all boilerwork and associated pipework within the clubhouse. We had no option but to accept a quote of approximately £32,000 to correct this issue. This invoice will be due soon.
On the positive side, we need to record our thanks to Will and his team, our bar takings have shown a large increase. Thanks are also due to the many volunteers who do so much to keep our sections going with their genuine enthusiasm and of course those people who the Trustees know they can turn to for assistance and guidance when required.
As Trustees we have already passed a proposal that upon the receipt of the land sale proceeds we clear every debt we have - we are also preparing a "to do" list. We are committed to retaining a significant 6 figure sum to safeguard our future.
