Hello everyone,
I thought it was necessary to update you all on the current situation regarding our involvement in the creation of a Padel complex in partnership with Chatsworth Tennis Club.
As you may be aware we had many meetings and discussions with the tennis club over a nine-month period and were able to get to a position of submitting a planning application for the joint venture in late March. Unfortunately, in May the tennis club informed us they were unable to enter a joint partnership due to LTA rules, however they still wanted the Squash Club to provide the investment for the Padel courts.
After a review of our constitution, and a number of committee meetings, we concluded that this was not within our remit, nor in the Squash Clubs best interest, so we notified the tennis club accordingly. This complete change of direction by the tennis club was unexpected and very frustrating given the huge commitment already given by the Squash Club to support this development.
As you will appreciate we are extremely disappointed that we have reached this position after many months of seemingly positive discussions, however once the tennis club stated their inability to enter a joint partnership agreement we were left with no choice but to reluctantly withdraw from the venture.
