The keystage 4 girls team from Gosforth Academy, comprised of girls that discovered squash through our schools outeach work 8 years ago, yesterday won the national schools title ... beating three independant schools during a very long day.
They had a comfortable 5 - 0 win in the morning, followed by a much closer but no less comprehensive 5 - 0 win over Highgate school in the semifinal. The final against Epsom College was a very close affair. Gosforth won comfortably at 3 and 4 to balance Epsom College winning at 1 and 2. It all came down to the number fives and Anna Morgan won a tense battle 2 - 1.
The team of Shae Paterson, Ava Naisbitt , Kate Naisbitt , Katherine Palmer, Sarah Jane Mothersole and Anna Morgan can be very proud of their achievement and are already planning their assault on next year's competition!
