After several months of mould drenched walls and ceilings in the Men’s Changing Room, it re-opens this week following a makeover.
The Squash Committee has spent a great deal of time investigating the ‘mould’ problem and after consultations with local ventilation ‘experts’ the solution was as follows:
Install a grill in the door – thereby creating air flow.
Install an extractor fan on the external wall – thereby creating a regular air change (this has also been wired into the light sensor).
Increase the size of the vents (and flexihose) in the ceiling of both the changing and shower areas – thereby allowing more air to be extracted via the club’s existing ventilation system.
Install AQUA plaster board to the ceiling of the shower area followed by a coating of Dulux Waterproof Paint – thereby eliminating mould in the future.
The work is now complete and members can once again enjoy the ‘full experience’ we set out to provide 2 years ago.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
