The Mind is everything. It can be your best friend or your biggest enemy. When you choose to act, think and stay positive, especially during pressure situations in matches, the better chance you will have of succeeding. So many junior players just don’t get this, no matter how many times their coaches try tell them.
Look and act like a Winner. No, I didn’t say act arrogantly. Nobody likes an arrogant person. Learn to act confidently. Your posture and the way you carry yourself sends a powerful message to your opponent. If you walk around with slumped shoulders and dragging your feet, you send a message that you are doubtful and unsure. Remember, that Arrogance needs to make a noise, Confidence is silent.
Your best chance to turn a match around is when your opponent thinks they have already won. How many times have we seen a player ‘give up’ being a set and say 3-1 or 4-2 down? Crazy!!! - In fact, your opponent fears it most, when they are close to winning and you are still fighting like mad to get back into the match. Remember, “There’s always a chance, Always!”.
I promise you, the quicker you implement these 3 things, the better chance of success you will have!
