Please find immediately below the update from England Squash, that was issued this morning, 30 November 2020. After this, I have updated the way that we enabled squash to be played at Ashbrooke, with effect from 2 December.
Updated Back to Squash guidance including changes to Tier 3
Hi Dermot,
Good news. Following the release of our initial tier guidance on Friday, today we have received confirmation that solo practice and same household play is permitted in Tier 3. Version 5.1 of our Back to Squash guidance has been released ahead of Wednesday’s return to play. Significant changes that affect clubs/venues and coaches include:
A change to the maximum number of players on court at Tier 1. Addition of travel guidance. A change around Educational Teams: these players must now be treated as if they are from different households when playing squash. Exemptions only apply to school, college or university groups within curriculum-based activity. These changes come into effect from midnight 2 December.
ASHBROOKE SQUASH CLUB Courts can be booked for solo practice and hitting with people from the same household. Please note that as the club is operating on a skeleton basis, you'll need your card to access the club and then the squash area. No spectators allowed. Access by the Ditchburn, leave by the squash viewing area. We are down to 2 courts that can booked at any one time. (Wazy is ready to go)
Joanne the physio is open, appointment only, Fitness Bank is open and Diego is open as a takeaway only, so the club will be quiet. The bar is currently NOT open and unlikely to open if Sunderland moves to a Tier 2 level on Dec 16 2020.
As before, we have made the squash available for you, but it's your own choice, if you decide to play.
ENJOY !!!!
