As we enter the Christmas break here is an overview of the team standings:
1st Team - It's been a tough start to life in Division 1 for our 1st team this season. Currently 9/10 but with 2 wins under the belt. Hopefully after Christmas the team will come back even stronger and get their teeth stuck into clawing back some points to keep them in the division. With a new league restructure happening again at the end of the season hopefully the 1st can still remain with the strongest teams in the county.
2nd Team - The biggest changes to any team have come to the 2nd team this first half of the season with the continuation of using squash levels for nominations. Sitting mid table 6/10 is a great place to be. The 3rds have often helped to make up team numbers due to a lot of injuries which seem to have hampered us very early on this year. After Christmas the team will change again but hopefully stay settled as we move towards the end of the season.
3rd Team - Youth has been on the side of the 3rd team for the first half of the season. Benjamin, Luke and Wilf have been key to our 3rd team and have had some great battles so far. We've also seen a brief return for our oldest team member, who came out of team squash retirement to help us out with a match where we were short. Currently sitting mid table 6/9 hopefully we have a strong second half to the season and finish strong.
Ladies - The ladies are still operating a team of 3 this season but its definitely something which works for us with having shift workers who can't always make every game understandably. It has been a great opportunity for captain Fran to rotate the team and make sure everyone gets a game. Currently sitting 6/7 but with at least 2 games in hand due to some rearrangements the ladies will be flying back up to the table to their rightful place very soon!
