3 - MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes... Accepted with minor adjustments – JK advised the Profit forecast is £30k (not profit to date). MF advised the Bar opening for the Boldon Open is from 8am not 12pm to allow for set up.
4 - MATTERS ARISING
AGM Tuesday 3rd December 2024 7.30pm - posters to be placed around club tonight. The band has been asked to use the function room later. Addendum – AGM date rescheduled to Tuesday 17th December.
5 - TREASURER
DA... £50,399 CA... £21,652 Up by £23k this time last year. JK believes future looks good. Electricity £1,283 (up by £200). Gas £509 (up by £300). New steel doors bought at a cost of £1700 following break in via the fire door. To be fitted front and back of the club. CE attended as alarms sounded, as did the Police who have recommended shutters after conducting a Risk Assessment of the property. JK advised the meeting that the anomaly in the Accounts (the Directors Loan of £4500 which is actually in our favour) has been satisfactorily explained by the Accountants as an Accounting difference and with the new system in place should now be reconciled going forward.
6 - BAR
JK explained that we have beaten targets and going forward with increased targets we are likely to receive £14k over 2 years, beginning with £7k to be received in January 2025. Marc reported that a number of squash players have asked for isotonic drinks to be available for sale behind the Bar. JK is to ask Sam to add these to the stock. The 1904 lager is to be reduced from 4% to 3.3% and the price reduced. Grand Central is to be changed to Camden IPA. New Sky system now in place thereby allowing viewing of EFL games. Function room tables damaged - JK to look into costs of replacing new stackable tables. JK advised the yoga group has asked for an extra slot on a Monday morning along with a discount because of increased use. However, the Committee agreed this is not cost effective owing to the additional staff costs required to open the premises. JK suggested the possibility of putting regular music nights on through the winter months to boost custom during a generally quiet period of the year.
7 - CRICKET
Drainage system now complete, and costs considerably lowered as work carried out by cricket players. No cricket training until January 2025. Presentation night went well.
8 - SQUASH
Teams almost at the end of the first half of the season. Boldon Open on 16 November – organiser Cai Younger needs access to the Bar at around 8am to set out match fixtures for the day. CE to open Bar. KF advised he has plastic covers for the bar seats so that squash contestants can use them. Handicap Auction 12pm Sunday 24 November. Handicap Finals night Saturday 14 December tickets £5 for band, buffet, and raffle. Everyone welcome.

10 - AOB
MF read a letter addressed to the Executive by member Gary Butler requesting an update on the security lights to be fitted along the driveway – JK asked MF to respond advising that a quote for lights and electrician work will be ready for the next meeting. MS reported that new oven and hob to be installed by end November as advised by LP. Smoke alarm in squash area going off for no apparent reason - CE agreed to contact Dunelm Alarms to request survey to identify fault. KF reported that the gas meter box located in Natley Ave needs securing - CE agreed to take photos of the meter to find out what work needs to be done. Committee agreed that the next steps would be the installation of a new meter in the near future. KF reported showers are losing pressure when 2 or more in use – KF to contact SGS. MF reported the death of two former club members - Norman Freeman and Bill Kirtley, along with details of each funeral.
