The finals of the club championships and presentation night were held on Saturday 17th May.
The matches started at 5pm with the plate finals of the ‘B’ event, Ladies event and the ‘A’ event. The B event plate winner was Joel Birch Machin who managed to overcome Andrew Shipley 3-1in an exciting contest. The ladies plate was a mother and daughter affair with Lesley Vitty beating her daughter Caitlain 3-1. The A event plate was a close match with Sam Birch Machin beating Keith Linley 3-1
The ‘B ‘event was between Tom Wight and Cameron Hamilton. Cameron had played well to get to this point but Tom was too strong for him winning 3-0.
The Ladies event brought 10 times club champion Emma Gregson (nee Barnett) up against rising star Sarah Dowson. It was a close match with Sarah being victorious by 3-1 so the club has a new Ladies Champion.
The ‘A’ event featured the 2 top seeds Liam Gutcher and Matt Hardy. Matt had been undefeated all season in the Northumbria Leagues but against Liam who is the Northumbria Leagues player of the year he did not have a good night losing 3-0 to a relentless Liam.
