Gosforth Academy has again brought home a national title after the school underlined its reputation as a major force in junior squash.
The Under 15 girls were crowned champions after a tight 3-2 final victory against Comberton Village School. Their B Team even finished third.
The Under 19 Boys came close to making it a spectacular double but fell in the final to a powerful team from Wycliffe who also won the Under 19 girls where Gosforth finished third to local rivals Dame Allans, seeing off Millfield in the play-off for bronze.
Gosforth Academy had previously won the Under 15 Girls title in 2013. All the squads comprised Northern juniors who have come through the club’s schools programme under coaches Richard Vitty, Liam Gutcher and Matt Hardy.
