In order to celebrate the ferocious competitor that we lost in Andy Lee, join us on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June 2016 from 5:00pm for Northern Squash Club’s first Andy Lee Memorial Handicap tournament.
Andy passed away suddenly last June at his new home in the Lanzarote. Many of you will have known Andy from the club and played with him. Everyone who competed with in the internal leagues will know him because he ran the leagues so well for so many years. You might also be aware that Andy also served on the Squash Committee for a number of years. You might not know but the Wazygoose booking system and the online league was inspired by a conversation Andy and I had some years ago where Andy told me how much work, blood and tears it took to run the league, and come up with the annual awards using spreadsheets and paper!
We'd like to celebrate Andy's contribution to our club with a squash tournament. It will be a handicap competition and we'll decide on the exact format when we have an idea of numbers.
So please come along and have some great fun playing in our Summer tournament. It will be a great way to remember Andy and for those of you who didn't know him you'll hear lots of stories from those who did.
The tournament is open to all players, regardless of level and ability.
