Fun Christmas Doubles
There was another great turnout for the Christmas fun doubles tournament on 28th December - 30 entrants of all ages and abilities (including over 60s, teenagers, 1st team players and beginners). Festive playing costumes included a snowman, a reindeer, a Christmas tree and an angel.
Pairs were picked with a view to getting evenly balanced match ups and were then put into 3 groups of 5 to play round robin matches. Semi finals and a final followed, with the Jacques Dinsley and Dylan Younger coming out on top against Tom Cornell and Megan Evans in the final.
Sarah Bedford, as a silver angel, was deemed to be the best dressed.
After finishing off the mulled wine, several participants retired to the bar (with the remaining snacks) to replace lost fluids and mull over the evenings events. Thanks go to Julie Cornell for arranging the mulled wine and snacks.
Also thanks to Petrina McQuillian who is the sports massage therapist based at Northern FC who gave the squash club a voucher to the value of £40 for us to raffle. The money raised went towards the expenses of running this event. Thank you Petrina for your generosity.
