Northern will have two teams again in both the Men’s and Ladies' top Divisions of the Northumbria Leagues next season.
Ladies 1st team won the Premier Division and were also runners up in the Northumbria Cup. Ladies 2nd team finished 5th.
The Men’s 1st team finished runners up whilst the 2nd team finished comfortably in 7th (having been promoted back to the Premier league this season). Liam Gutcher won Player Of The Division with 14 wins out of 14, playing at number 1.
Men’s 4th, 5th and 6th teams all finished mid-table, whilst Ladies 3rds finished 2nd to retain their Division statuses next season.
Elsewhere league life was tougher, with Men’s 3rds finishing without a win in Division 1, but commendably fielding a full team for every match, despite several absences for much of the season. Both Junior teams finished in relegation positions (8th) but both were only 4 points from guaranteed safety.
On and off the court, organising a team can be a thankless task at times, but without volunteers the teams wouldn’t happen, so a big thank you to all who have helped run a team this season.
