Don’t ever think that a competitive edge declines with age. Accepting that to qualify for this competition you need to be fifty years of age (generally) the on court tactics are a joy to watch. For example Vince (the fox) always complains about the stress on his body and then wipes out his opponents. Then there’s Gordy limping onto court and by magic when the bell rings all aches and pains disappear!! How about Tony Cornell I’ll try my best but I have been playing tennis, then it’s not easy to see him run around court. He’s that fast it’s a blur. Finally step forward this year’s winners.
One of the youngsters came through (of course in the spirit of the competition moaning before every game about physical disadvantage) and then displaying amazing agility!! Step forward Brian Richardson a sprightly sixty ***** year old.
Last year’s Titan trophy winner Rob Aynsley let it be known that in his absence the trophy is only on loan to Mike Paul. This is the one competition where the statement ‘age and cunning will overcome youth and enthusiasm really applies, I’m a little concerned for next year’s event!!!
