4 - MATTERS ARISING/ACTION POINTS
4.1 - Action Point Update:
• 4.2 Marc – confirmed buffet organised for Summer Teams derby between Boldon 1 and Boldon Mondays on 1st September, very enjoyable evening for the players and spectators.
• 4.5 Marc - confirmed AGM report completed and issued in advance of AGM held Tuesday 19th September.
4.2 - Winter Teams 2023/2024
• Marc relayed results of first matches:
o Team 2 lost 3-2 to Concordia
o Team 4 won 3-2 at Hexham
4.3 - Dashboard
• Covered in the Squash AGM held prior to this meeting.
4.4 - Squash club maintenance/improvement
• Covered in the Squash AGM held prior to this meeting.
4.5 - Club Executive Committee Feedback
• 5 representatives from the Boldon Sports Hub attended the Executive Meeting to give an update on the current position:
o Local councillors sympathetic to proposals to bring sports facilities and clubs into one overarching club
o Further progress thwarted until South Tyneside Local Plan agreed and published and it becomes clear what sports facilities are to be supported and where in future years
o Executive asked for more detail about bids for funding a sports hub and the management structure and responsibilities
o Sports Hub reps to report back early next year
• Club Current Account £29k; Club Reserve Account £20k.
• KP Simpson, Accountants confirmed inflated VAT bill of £5k correct
• Executive agreed to purchase more new chairs for the bar as part of the upcoming maintenance and improvement plans.
o ACTION Mandy to ask Marc about arranging skip for ‘club tidy-up day’
• AGM to be scheduled, potentially for January 2024 to cover years 2022 and 2023.
• Next Executive Meeting scheduled 23rd October.
5 - AOB
• Russell queried whether current membership of 137 is normal for this time of year, Kevin confirmed it is but numbers are expected to rise over the coming weeks.
• Connor queried the in-house team fees for this season, and Marc and Kevin agreed it is to remain the same at £10.
