4 - MATTERS ARISING
- Sports Hub – no progress made so far. The club needs to be clear on what it wants to move forward (in reality, an indoor hall). JK to send an reply.
5 - TREASURER
Current Account - £26,632; Deposit Account - £20,055
October has been a static month so far.
HMRC say we owe them £2,362 from 20/21.
6 - BAR
Agreed to buy some new bar furniture, same chairs as function room, and some new bar stools.
Request received from Ian Temple to hold a summer wedding on weekend of 27/28 July 2024. Agreed. Need to notify cricket leagues to play fixtures away on those dates.
The need for a booking form for function room hire was agreed LP to look into this. Also, the bar needs to tighten up on accepting bookings and putting them into the diary, to ensure we can staff everything.
The storage container for the bar is in and is currently being filled.
Other areas to be addressed are the old kitchen (has recently been tidied and some space made available), the outside areas and the sheds.
Maintenance list, floors are a priority.
7 - CRICKET
Winter nets to start in January.
Marlon Black to join the coaching team.
New drainage across the field has been completed (under £1k). The volunteers worked extremely hard to finish on time and many thanks to Grant Forster, Ben the Archer, Tommy and Lucas Nixon (plus anyone else who helped). Terry Charlton and Turf Care have completed a large part of their work.
A Talk In has been arranged for 3rd November featuring Scott Borthwick and Steven Elliott.
8 - SQUASH
Winter leagues are progressing - 1st team P4 W2; 2nd team P4 W1; 3rd team P4 W1; 4th team P4 W2.
Bookings in September are £1,297, memberships £1,162. Total for year is £21,894.
Club handicap starts on 27th November with a player Auction. Finals are on 9th December followed by a Christmas party with the band.
Carpet fitted by Mark Bulmer in Ladies’changing room.
Maintenance plans – ceiling in corridor and behind courts 3 & 4 to be replaced with new lights fitted (aim is to replace safety lights).
Installing flip seats behind courts 1 & 2. Damp problem on court 4, brickwork to be repaired on outside wall (repointing).
Filing cabinet behind court 4 to be moved and disposed of.
9 - MEMBERSHIPS
- 1 renewal.
10 - AOB
Need to send posters to KF for inclusion on TV notice feed.
AGM to be held in March.
ADT security contract to be reviewed. (Dunelm security favourable to replace it).
SKY/BT to be revisited.
