Minutes of the Boldon Cricket and Squash Executive Committee Meeting held on 16th December 2024

1 - ATTENDEES

3 - MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

4 - MATTERS ARISING

5 - TREASURER

  • Deposit Account - £50,569

  • Current Account - £20,349 - On course to increase last year's £41k in bank.

6 - BAR

  • Plans are forming to renovate both the function room and the bar, discussion followed.

  • No progress on the new oven as out of stock. Looking for a different supplier but the price goes up.

  • Four foldable tables have been ordered to replace damaged ones.

  • Kitchen floor has been renewed and there were no leaking pipes so need to look elsewhere for those.

  • Squash showers have low pressure (need a separate pump but pricey) so need to limit numbers in shower at any one time. Solution may be another water tank on the roof.

  • The club now has an account with Dove which will make it easier to get supplies.

  • Situation with wreath making seems to be resolved.

  • Solar panels - ECB will give £10k grant towards this. A quote is to come from Armstrong Renewables. We are waiting for information and usage guidelines but we would own it.

  • A quote is to come for electrical work and new lights on the drive.

  • Need a quote for a steel fence around the new nets.

7 - CRICKET

  • Indoor nets to start in January.

8 - SQUASH

  • Open tournament in November went well and another to be hosted next year.

  • Handicap finals were held on Sat 14th December.

  • Internal challenge matches will take place this week and the 3-racket challenge will take place between Christmas and New Year.

  • The squash section wish to have a glass-back for 1 of the courts, costing £18.5k and asks if the club will provide £5k. A Crowdfunder has been set up, Sport England to be approached. John Kilner agreed.

  • Relief storage solutions, a suitable container would cost £600 + VAT.

9 - MEMBERSHIPS

  • No new members

10 - AOB

  • Club AGM now to take place on 17th December at 7.30pm. Agenda - Minutes of the previous AGM; Presentation of the Accounts; Election of Officials.

  • Discrimination Policy to be added to club constitution, a requirement of ECB.

  • Stocktake to take place on Friday 3rd January at 10am, volunteers required.

  • Club is desperate to get a new electricity certificate. Kevin Forster to contact an electrician.
