Handicap Auction & Competition 2025
The Auction was a disappointing turn out and rather than cancel the event, the entrants were drawn at random in a raffle at a cost of £5 per entrant.
The money raised was divided using the same ratio percentage as previous years: Cup Winner £153 (Matt Stout); Cup Runner Up £77 (Alex Adamson); Plate Winner £66 (Connor Snaith syndicate); Plate Runner Up £33 (Ian Mapstone); Cup Semi Finalist £35 (Brandon Kane); Cup Semi Finalist £35 (Anita Hammond); Plate Semi Finalist £15 (Connor Snaith Syndicate); Plate Semi Finalist £15 (Brandon Kane)
The results of the Competition were as follows: Cup Winner – Matt Stout; Cup Runner Up – Steve H Chapman; Plate Winner – Ian Mapstone; Plate Runner Up – Kevin Forster
Mick thanked all the organisers of the Competition for their hard work - Kevin, Tracey, Mandy and Marc.
The Committee agreed that the 2026 Handicap Auction needs a complete rethink, if it does indeed go ahead.
4.4 - Squash club maintenance/ improvement
The new front door has been fitted and feedback from members has been positive about how smart it is. ACTION Tracey & Marc – look into quotes for Boldon Squash signage for above the entrance door.
The Ladies changing room shower problem appears to be rectified (for the time being) but Kevin reported that he thinks the pipework is incorrect and may need a re-fit if the problem continues/escalates.
The corridor floors need work to rectify the ‘bouncing’ that is occurring.
The Committee agreed that this type of work, along with some internal decorating, should be included on a ‘2026 To Do List’. ACTION Squash Committee – report back on what improvements could be done in 2026, seeking out feedback from the members.
