Minutes of the Meeting 9th May 2022 agreed.
4. Matters Arising/Action Points
4.1 Action Point Update:
• 5 Marc – Scoreboard in place
• 5 Kevin – obtain price for battery-powered vacuum: £300 purchase sanctioned by the Committee.
• 5 Mandy – to write formal thanks to Neil following his resignation from the Committee. BEING CARRIED FORWARD:
• 5 Mandy – Draft Squash AGM report, meeting date to be confirmed.
• 5 Kevin & Mandy – Updating Safeguarding Policies – ongoing.
• 5 Kevin/Tracey/Mandy – No progress to report on Ladies Changing Room improvements.
4.2 Northumbria Squash Summer Teams
• Fixtures and results are shown on the new scoreboard behind court 3.
4.3 Dashboard
• Marc did a walkthrough of the Dashboard and advised the Committee that £532.50 has been retained in funds to cover England Squash Affiliation Fees and £319 transferred to the Club Treasurer.
o Squash bank account healthy.
o Membership now 167.
4.4 Enhancement of Wazygoose Boldon Squash Website
• None
4.5 Squash club maintenance/improvement
• Mark confirmed installation is due for completion w/e 24th June but raised concerns about the amount of wood chippings being stored near the installation site.
o Marc agreed to raise this issue at the Club Executive Meeting.
• Marc to invoice Vertu Motors for the first quarterly sponsorship.
• Cleaning service is adequate at the moment but still being closely monitored.
4.6 Club Executive Committee Feedback
• Marc reported from last Executive Meeting held on 17th May:
o Club Current Account £11,742.80
o Club Deposit Account £13919.37
• 2021 Club Accounts currently with Accountant.
• A few more Social and Cricket memberships received.
• Club is going to pay Chris Ellison and John Kilner for works done.
• The Rackets are playing in the Bar on Saturday 16th July.
5. AOB
• Ian raised the matter of the Squash club’s 50th Anniversary in 2023 and asked if the occasion is to be marked. Committee agreed it should be, to be discussed at a future meeting.
• Neil announced his resignation from the Squash Committee, and the Committee expressed their gratitude for his contribution.
o ACTION – Mandy to write to Neil with formal thanks from the Committee.
• Mark informed the Committee that himself and Ian are to trim the trees as soon as possible in preparation for the advertising hoarding installation.
• Mick asked if Mark could obtain further squash shirts with the Vertu logos to which he agreed to progress.
• Marc advised the Committee that the kit for the Winter Leagues is to be progressed separately.
• Kevin announced the sad news of the death of Bryan Thubron, whose funeral will be held in the Club on Friday 24th June.
