Gosforth Academy
When our juniors move into sixth form at the local Gosforth Academy they can apply to be part of the "Gosforth Academy of squash coaching".
This funded scheme enables some sixth formers to study towards their level 1 and level 2 coaching awards under the tutelage of our head coach, Richard Vitty.
The key points of this scheme are that the students will spend time, on and off court, learning how to:
- Improve their own game through structured training
- Mentor one of the younger Academy juniors
- Assist the current coaching staff with squad sessions
- Assist in the organisation of competitions
- Deliver group and individual squash coaching to juniors and adults
